Take it simple, Mel and Lee

Just in congratulatory nature, my good longtime pal Leeland had his first child recently. He joins the ranks of many other longtime chaps that are pumpin' out the munchkins faster than you can say "pumping out the munchkins." Congrats Mel & Lee!

In semi related news, this is what I did the past weekend with my bro's Dan & Jord.

Again, congrats Jacob clan!

Some non-nude things

Just thought I'd put up some stuff. Dig?

Finally busted out the "Digital Tablet" (fingers in the air) and decided to practice by coloring Mr. Bugm'n here. Low quality scan original, so the file is kinda pixicated (yes, I just made that word up.)

This is a scan from a linoleum carved print I did. Carved, inked, and slapped on to papa'. It accidently folded if ya can't tell.

From figure drawing. Can ya see it? Tis a lady (clothed!)...created entirely of paper scraps. I was very NOT excited to do this assignment, but somehow it turned out perdy nice. (Still not sure I should put up anything from what REALLY goes down in there. wink wink)

Some quick facial studies I thought were fun. That old guy's expression could be explained in so many disturbing ways.

Yo bead is gewd: An update of me.

It be February of 2008! MID Feb! Already!? Lots of red colors and fat hearts. And great candy might I add... Some celebrate Valentine's Day, while others celebrate cursing St. Valentino and his wretched day of love and/or the absence thereof. (As for me, check my previous post for the 4-1-1 on my Honey McBunion, otherwise known as Cass)

Well, since its Feb, that means January is over. It came and went as most January's do. I think this first month of every year is always pretty durned eventless. Nothing much ever happens. School has begun...again... and I continue my slow but semi-sure path to completing it. I often wonder if I am going anywhere at all in my schooling. Is it even worth going to school? I like to learn and I eventually desire a degree, but I feel like I still have little clue as to what the hell I will be doing with my life. I am a "graphic design" major, but what is that anyway? I still haven't taken any official "graphic design" classes yet. I see people who are amazing at illustration, and I see others amazing at "graphic design," and I wonder where I fit in all that. Somewhere in the middle I think. So, we'll see I guess. Perhaps I would make a good teacher...or a stripper? Either way, I really want to be able to provide for my family, but that's a whole 'nother story itself! Family?!?...!!!?? That means having kids... is that safe?? Not only do I fear for the lives of potential children, but I also greatly fear that looming power of... KARMA - arma - arma- arma. That's right, me and Cass are gonna be doomed to spawn of the devil if Karma has anything to say about it. At least I get to curse them as well by saying "I hope your kids are JUST...LIKE....YOOOOOOU!!"

As far as entertainment in this first month or so of "Oh Ate," here's what I deam worthy of my responsibility-avoiding attention:

Music: First great album bought this year, Vampire Weekend. A very smart indie rock outfit that sounds more than a little like the Clash, with a few sublte keyboard blips here and there. It's the little things like that which make this rise above the usual of the genre. Take exhibit "A-Punk" for example. Here is their video for it:

Now go out and purchase. Don't download, what's the fun in that??
Also of note, the group called MGMT (pronounced Management, I believe)and their Oracular Spectacular. Fabulously psychedelic laptpop-rock (get it?? Laptop+ pop! Haha..ahem.) that feels like a sunset beach party. The group sounds almost like a more melodic Animal Collective to me. And if that still doesn't make sense to you, take a look HERE

Also of note, the greatest pop album EVER (yes, better than any Beatles album in my humble opinion) was re-released in a 25th Anniversary edition today. That's right, 1982 was a good year (I was born, this album was released...coincidence?? I think not!)

It also comes with a bunch of AWFUL remakes by the likes of Fergie, Akon, Kanye, and Will.I.Am. What can ya do...

I started buying the new Ultimates 3 series, because one of my favorite artists from the 90's (Joe Madureira) came back to draw it. As far as story and dialogue go, it's...laughable, at best. No super hero should say "Like, ew, GROSS!" when she disposes of a villian... Which is why it's a good thing the art is fantastic !

Also, January's Rolling Stone had a sweet article on Radiohead. Suh-weet.

Not in the mood to review thoroughly, but moving picture shows I've seen recently are as follows:
CLOVERFIELD: AWESOME monster movie. Someone actually brought soul into a b-movie genre.
SWEENEY TODD: Also very awesome, but WAY more gorish than I expected. If you know me, you know how I lose conciousness and go into shock with such things. Still, great movie.
27 DRESSES: Katherine Heigl is good. I like her. Also good is James Marsden who finally gets a role where he's not getting shafted by much cooler super heroes (X-men, Superman, Enchanted). He's perfect as a romantic comedy dude though, and not so good as Cyclops.
Here he is in Enchanted.

In other movie news... check out the new trailer for The Hobbit movie HERE!

Anyway, I died my hair black again, and lately have been growing my "facial hair" out. Camera don't work, or I'd take a picture. So, that's all for now. Sorry so long, just thought some people may be interested in a slight update in my life. Sigh...

My Valentino

So, I never do these profile questionaires. One reason is cuz I spent so much time doing them in the early days of the "Net de la Inter" and my friend pool never increased, neither did my fame. Infact, both DECREASED.(Though I never did get a vile disease)
You've seen one you've seen them all right? I don't want this to sound bad, but I started getting sick of seeing:
"Q:Who is your best friend? A: Well, I guess Jesus is!"
That's fine and all, I'm a true believer, but I'm not sure that's the point of the questions...I could be wrong.
ANYWAYS...Cass has done a few of these and tagged me to continue the spread. I figure this nice Valentine one was appropriate, and a good tribute to my lil Cassy Lassy for the occasion. (For her answers, check her page @

How did you meet your VaLeNtInE ?
Answer all the questions HONESTLY . . . .

1. Where did you meet?
I met the Cass at Yokota, AFB in Japan. She was the 9 year old sister of my friend Whitney, I was a 12 year old strippling.

2. What was the first thought that went through your head when you met?

I thought her sister was hot. : )

3. Do you remember what she/he was wearing?

I am gonna go out on a limb and guess she was wearing nicely patterned church attire because I think the only time I really saw her in those days was at de churche.

4. Where was the first time you kissed this person?
This was much later of course. It was at her sister's house in Vernal. She asked if I wanted some Carmex, or if I alternatively wanted some LIPS. We both laughed akwardly, and later I took her up on the Carmexed lip action, but she fell asleep.

5. How did he/she ask you out?

Well, I suggested she come visit me from New York, but after dat, it was basically her wit' all da moves.

6. Where did you go for your first date?

Our first official "date" date was Cafe Rio in Salt Lake, followed by "Meet the Fockers." But, I like to count our first date as Christmas day, when I picked her up from the airport, and we walked around Temple Square saying stuff like "boy, my hands are cold" and what not. Then we went to my house and watched "I, Robot"

7.How long did you know this person before you became a couple?
I think it was 12 years! Wow...Das a spicey meat-a-ball-a!

8. Has this person ever proposed to you? (I really like Cass's answer haha)
She proposed to me for about a year and a half, but I kept saying girls aren't allowed to do that.

9. Do you and this person have kids together?
No. I'm not too sure that's legal at this point.

10. Have you ever broken the law with this person?
Um...I dunno. She says I broke into our landlord's house, but the door was unlocked, so that doesn't count. Ahem...does public nudity count? Er...

11. When was the first time you realized that you liked this person?
On the phone, when I realized she was the first girl (possibly ever) that I truly felt myself around. I didn't have to pretend. (And the picture she sent of her in a school girl uniform was nice. )

12. Do you get along with any of the ex's of your partner?
I don't think I've ever met any. Somehow I think if I knew them, I'd get along with them better than she would.

13. Do you trust this person?
She's my trusty Cassidill.

14. Do you see your partner in your future?
Yes'm. Even if there is a problem with the time space continuem(sp?). Time travel....initiated.

15. Whats the most expensive thing this person has given you?
She's treated me to a nice surprise hotel weekend and bought me really nice Jazz tickets before. Most things are free of charge ; ) Ahem...

16. What is one thing he/she does that gets on ur nerves.
She is very good at nagging. But specifically, she tends to attack my driving mistakes before I make them. Haha.

17. What is the thing you do that gets on his/her nerves?
Um... She hates my male gaseous releases of all forms. She would rather I explode into oblivion!

18. Where do you see each other in 15 years from now?
I'll be 40...I try not to think of those things. Hey, my brother Jord will be MY age by then! Egad....

19.Will this person repost this?
If she does, it'll be her second time, but here is a picture of Wolverine fighting Post.
